This type was introduced in 1982 with the accession of queen Beatrix (1980-2013) to the throne of the Netherlands. The specification was unchanged from the issues of queen Juliana (KM 183) but the design was modernized. The type was struck until the coming of the euro in 2002. The rijksdaalder was 25 g, 0.945 fine silver until 1898, then 0.720 fine silver 1929-40, then 15 g 1959-66, then nickel starting in 1969.

Recorded mintage: 3,800,000 plus 15,000 proofs.

Specification: 10 g, nickel, 29 mm diameter.
