Nepal VS2035 20 paisa rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen was issued by Nepal as part of the F.A.O. series. The king shown here, Birendra Bir Bikram, in 2001 was murdered by his son, the Crown Prince. That scandal, plus the regime's inability to quell a Maoist insurgency, led to the abolition of the monarchy soon after. One hundred paisa = one rupee.

Recorded mintage: 234,000.

Specification: brass.

Catalog reference: KM 813.
