Steve Album sale 30, lot 935
Nepal SA30-935r.jpg

This specimen was lot 935 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEPAL: Prithvi Vira, 1881-1911, AV tola, SE1828, Brilliant Unc." This type is listed for SE 1828-1833 (1906-11) and is scarce. Some coins are dated using the Saka Era (SE) and others using the Bikram Samvat Era (VS). The existence of proofs for SE 1833 suggests that the coins were not made in Nepal.

Recorded mintage: 3,000,000.

Specification: 12.48 g, gold, this specimen 12.35 g.

Catalog reference: KM-675.1.
