This specimen was lot 72418 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEPAL. 1/16 Mohar, ND (1777-99). Rana Bahadur. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. A sharply struck near-Gem little minor with bold devices and attractive mottled gray patina." The Shah dynasty unified Nepal in the mid eighteenth century and survived until the monarchy was abolished in 2001. One mohar was half a rupee. Altho the larger coins of this ruler (mohar, half mohar and quarter mohar) are dated, the smaller ones (eighth, sixteenth and 1/32 mohar) are not. This issue may be separated by the very similar 1/32 mohar by being struck on both sides. None of these are priced above EF in the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.35 g, silver.

Catalog reference: KM-493.1.
