This specimen was lot 47150 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Naples. Carlino, ND (1554-98). Napoli Mint. Philip II. NGC EF-45. From the Richard Margolis Collection." The carlino was ten grana and was introduced by Charles of Anjou in the thirteenth century. Numerous type of carlini were struck in Naples for Philip II of Spain (including KM MB112, MB117, MB130, MB132). Most have the bust facing right. This type is also known dated 1572 and 1577. It is scarce.
