from the Stack's Bowers 2022 NYINC sale, lot 8010

This specimen was lot 8010 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "MYANMAR. 5000 Kyat, 1998. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo. Struck for the Year of the Tiger. A technically perfect Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." This lunar calendar issue was accompanied by three silver 500 kyat (KM 52, 53 and 54), a gold 2,000 kyat (KM 55) and a gold 300 kyat (KM A51).

Recorded mintage: 5,798 proofs.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
