This specimen was lot 75530 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUSCAT AND OMAN. 1/2 Saidi Rial, AH 1380 (1960). London Mint. Sa'id bin Taimur. PCGS MS-64." This type was struck AH 1380-1381 (1961-62). This type was also struck in gold (KM 34a) but not in AH 1380. The name of the country was shortened to plain "Oman" in 1970.
Recorded mintage: 300,000 plus prooofs.
Specifications: KM 34: 14.03 g, 0.500 fine silver, 33 mm diameter, reeded edge.
