This specimen was lot 52085 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $13,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Silesia-Munsterberg-Oels. Ducat, 1551. Reichenstein Mint. Joachim, Heinrich II, Johann, Georg. NGC MS-63★. Simply impressive to behold, this Ducat offers a supremely attractive example, being fully struck up and only marginally handled. The surfaces is semi-prooflike, with razor sharp reflectivity in the fields. An example that will undoubtedly capture the attention of any collector focused on quality European coinage." This type was struck almost continuously 1537-52 yet is rare despite the many years of production. Johann, the last of the brothers, died in 1565. The line lapsed on the death of his son Karl Christoph in 1569.
