This specimen was lot 1845 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $2,937.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Akbar I, 1556-1605, AV mohur, Lahore, AH979, magnificent bold strike, NGC graded MS63." The Mughal Empire stretched over most of India in the early seventeenth century and numerous mints struck silver rupees for the emperor. Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 10.8-10.9 g, gold.
