This specimen was lot 643 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Akbar I, 1556-1605, AR rupee, Qila Alwar, AH964, with the complete mint name below the obverse; mount removed, VF, RR." We presume Qila Alwar is the same Alwar that later became in independent state in Rajputana. The only date listed in the SCWC for this mint is "AH (9)x7" and is rare.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specifications: 11.44 g, silver, this specimen 11.39 g.
Catalog reference: KM-80.20, cf. Zeno-82977 for the date.
