Steve Album sale 55, lot 2370

This specimen was lot 2370 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Aurangzeb, 1658-1707, AR 1/2 rupee, Surat, AH1112 year 44, an attractive nearly mint state example, PCGS graded AU58." This type was struck at Surat years 8-13, 18, 21-51 and is common as half rupees go. The SCWC lists 116 mints but most did not strike half rupees.
