This specimen was lot 2373 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Aurangzeb, 1658-1707, AR rupee, Akbarabad, year 42, unusual variety, with a heart-shaped ornament instead of the Hijri date above the 'g' of aurangzeb, Unc, R." This type was struck at Akbarabad years 28-51 and is fairly common. The SCWC lists 116 mints but most did not strike half rupees. After the Mughals, the city reverted to its old name, Agra, but is still famous as the site of the Taj Mahal.
