Stack's Bowers February 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75044

This specimen was lot 75044 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Mughal Empire. Mohur, AH 1119 (1707). Shahjahanabad Mint. Sham Alam Bahadur. PCGS Genuine--Bent, Unc Details. Sharply defined and gently lustrous, the surfaces tinged with antique golden patina and unmarred by any significant damage, other than the noted slight bend." The SCWC lists this mint for AH 1122-1123 only but the "١١١٩" date is very clear on this specimen. It was struck at 23 mints in all.
