This specimen was lot 1503 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for €975 (about US$1,524 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, MONACO, Rainier III (1949-2005), AV 200 francs, 1966, 10e anniversaire de mariage. Flan Poli (Monaco, Rainier III (1949-2005), gold two hundred francs of 1966, on his tenth wedding anniversary, Proof.)"

This type was struck by the Paris mint for Spink and Son, the London coin dealers. It was accompanied by a silver ten francs but has no legal tender status.

Recorded mintage: 1,000 proofs plus 5,000 circulation strikes.

Specification: 32 g, .920 fine gold.
