Künker sale 293, lot 2075

This specimen was lot 2075 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,752 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MONACO, FÜRSTENTUM, Albert II. seit 2005. 2 Euro 2007. 25. Todestag von Fürstin Gracia Patricia (1929-1982). R In Originaletui. Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. (principality of Monaco, Albert II (2005-), two euro of 2007, twenty-fifth anniversary of the death of princess Grace. In the original box, uncirculated.)"

This commemorative (KM 186) accompanied the regular issue (KM 195) with the portrait of the prince, her son. Despite the substantial mintage and the certainty that all produced are still in collector's hands, this type is expensive.

Recorded mintage: 20,000.

Specification: 8.5 g, bimetallic, 25.75 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 186.
