This specimen was lot 74113 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $40. The catalog description[1] noted, "MONACO. Franc, 1924. Louis II. NGC MS-63. A handsome Choice example, with strong luster and great details." This type was struck at the Poissy mint for the principality of Monaco during the reign of Louis II (r. 1922-49). The module matches that of a French franc of the 1920-27 period. It is a one-year type and not common. Similarly to the French franc, it is a technically a "good for" token and not a coin.
Recorded mintage: 150,000.
Specification: 4 g, aluminum-bronze, 23 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: KM-111.
