This specimen was lot 99138 in Heritage sale 61253 (Dallas, January 2022), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Monaco. Antoine I 3 Sols (Pezzetta) 1708 G6 NGC. Very rare, and the sole example certified by NGC. Heavily circulated, as is expected for the type, though with all devices discernible and the legends retaining full legibility." The coinage of Monaco in the eighteenth century is scanty, mostly imitations of French or Sardinian coinage. The result was a mix of French and Italian denominations. Three deniers = one liard; 4 liards = one sol; 3 sols = one pezetta (shown here); 20 pezettas = one scudo.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver or billon.

Catalog reference: KM 68, Gad-MC90.
