This specimen was lot 99134 in Heritage sale 61253 (Dallas, January 2022), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "Monaco: Honore II Scudo (Ecu or 60 Sols) 1649 XF40 NGC. A fleeting type that remains difficult to acquire in all states of preservation, yet here seen with strong circulated eye appeal -- the result of balanced wear and a delightful steel-blue patina that carries elements of colorful iridescence in the outer registers. One of a mere three examples certified by NGC to date. Ex. Künker Auction 233 (June 2013, Lot 2431)." The prince of Monaco issued an extensive series of coinage, from copper double tournois to one écu, mostly imitation of the neighboring French coinage. Today, it is all scarce to rare altho, as always, the crowns obtain the highest prices. This type was struck 1648-50.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27 g, 0.917 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 14.1, Dav-4305, Gad-MC29.
