Sincona sale 83, lot 4524

This specimen was lot 4524 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$602 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND Grisons. Johann Franz Trivulzio, 1518-1549. Cavallotto o. J., Roveredo oder/und Musso. Verziertes, geschweiftes Wappen mit Helmzier und Sirene mit Diamantring. Rv. Hl. Georg zu Pferd nach rechts, den Drachen mit der Lanze erstechend. Sehr schön. Kleiner Randfehler (canton of Graubunden, marquisate of Misox, John Francis Trivulzio, 1518-49, undated cavalloto, Roveredo or Musso mints. Mantled arms with a helmeted crest with a siren holding a diamond ring; reverse: mounted St. George spears the dragon. Very fine, Minor edge flaw)." This cavalloto was 5/12 of a teston.
