Mexico 2022 onza oro
This specimen was lot 736 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 4,250 CHF (about US$6,477 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"MEXIKO Republik. 1 Onza 2022, Mexico City. Libertad. Selten. Nur 500 Exemplare geprägt. (United States of Mexico, onza of 2022, Mexico City mint, Liberty type. Rare. Only 500 specimens struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO.)"
This coin was not struck in Mexico City but in San Luis Potosi, where the mint was moved in the 1980's. This type has been struck in limited numbers since 2000, with reverse proofs added in 2018.
Recorded mintage: 1,900 plus 1,300 proofs plus 500 reverse proofs.
