This specimen was lot 72914 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 100 Pesos, 2013-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS PROOFLIKE-69. Numismatic heritage of Mexico commemorative. The inner bimetallic silver center is struck to imitate an 1822 8 Escudos, and with some waviness in the fields and uneven denticles the effect is somewhat convincing for what it is. Otherwise surfaces are uniformly brilliant and sans tone, haze, or any other defects." This denomination was used for numerous NCLT's in 2013, including KM 921, KM 971, 972, 973, 974, 975, 976. This specimen is one of a series issued by the Mexico City mint to honor famous Mexican coins of the past, in this case the gold eight escudos of emperor Iturbide.

Specification: 33.825 g, brass outer ring with 0.925 fine silver center, .500 troy oz ASW, 39.9 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
