Stack's Bowers October 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 73248

This specimen was lot 73248 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 100 Pesos, 2013-Mo. Mexico City Mint. NGC PROOFLIKE-69. Numismatic heritage of Mexico commemorative. Inner silver center is struck to imitate a 1915-Gro Zapatista Suriana 2 Pesos from Guerrero, enclosed by a bimetallic aluminum-bronze ring." This denomination was used for numerous NCLT's in 2013, including KM 921, 971, 972, 973, 974, 975, KM 976. This specimen is one of a series issued by the Mexico mint to honor famous Mexican coins of the past, in this case the Zapatista two pesos from Suriana.

Recorded mintage: 8,000.

Specification: 33.825 g, brass outer ring with 0.925 fine silver center, .500 troy oz ASW, 39.9 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
