This specimen was lot 72911 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 100 Pesos, 2005-Mo. Mexico City Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the 400th anniversary of Don Quixote de la Mancha. SCARCE to discover in Proof, this modern bimetallic issue is seldom offered. Near perfect in every respect, and free of tone, spots, or haze." This denomination was used for numerous NCLT's in 2005, including KM 705, 712, 713, 714, 715, 716, 717, 719, 721, 723, 725, 727, 729, 730, 731, 732, 752, 754, 758, 762, 817, 818, 819, 820, 821, 822, 823, 824, 825, 826, 827, 828, 829, 862, 863.

Recorded mintage: 726,833 plus 3,761 plus a few struck in 2006.

Specification: 33.825 g, brass outer ring with 0.925 fine silver center, .500 troy oz ASW, 39.9 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
