This specimen is one of a type issued 1992-96 as part of the reform of the peso in 1992 (one new peso = 100 old pesos). It was redesigned in 1996 to drop the "N" in "NS" and is still in production in that form (KM 604).

Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 plus 6,981 proofs.

Specification: 5.19 g, Bimetallic (aluminium bronze center in stainless steel ring), 23 mm diameter.
