This specimen was lot 1570 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Estados Unidos, 5 pesos, 1982-Mo, serpent god Quetzalcoatl, rare in proof, NGC graded PF69 Ultra Cameo, R. Tied for finest known at NGC." The circulation issue of 1980-85 is common but the proofs, struck 1982-83, are rare.
Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 plus 1,051 proofs.
