This type was struck 1955-59 and 1966-67. Benito Juarez, who defeated the French invasion of the 1860's, appears on the obverse. This bust was originally used on the ten pesos and one peso of 1957, the centennial of the constitution he mostly wrote.
Recorded mintage: 5,873,000.
Specification: 5.5 g, bronze, 23.5 mm diameter.
