The first specimen was lot 11394 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1912. PCGS MS-63+ Secure Holder. Lustrous with light rim toning." This specimen is the third date of the "Caballito" peso struck at Mexico City 1910-14. It is the last full weight peso from Mexico, ending a tradition going back to colonial times. The 1912 is the fourth commonest date of the five dates, after 1910, 1911 and 1913.
