Sedwick sale 10, lot 1193

This specimen was lot 1193 in Sedwick sale 10 (Winter Park, FL, October 2011), where it sold for $276. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico City, Mexico, bust 4 reales, Charles III, 1772FM, initials facing rim. Cleaned VF+ with small parts of rims crude (as made) and weak spot at date." This sub-type, with the mintamrk and assayers' initials facing rim, was issued 1772-73 only.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, .393 troy oz ASW; This specimen 13.4 grams.
