This specimen was lot 2947 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MARSBERG: Ernst von Bayern, 1583-1612, AR 1/24 thaler, 1608, some small verdigris spots, mainly on reverse, well struck, VF, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." Marsberg was a free town of extreme obscurity in the duchy of Westphalia, which was ruled by the archbishop-elector of Cologne. This groschen was struck there 1601, 1606-11 in several styles; this one has the date divided by the cross on the orb.
