This specimen was lot 55696 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Mansfeld-Eisleben. Taler, (15)60. Johann Georg I, Peter Ernst I & Christoph II. PCGS EF-45." Mansfeld and its subdivisions were counties of utmost insignificance except for its silver mines which provided the material for an abundance of thalers. This type was issued 1559-60 and undated as part of the first joint coinage.
