This specimen was lot 75226 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Malwa Sultanate. Falus, AH 905 (1499/1500). Ghiyath Shah. NGC AU-58." The Sultans of Malwa ruled their state in central India from 1392 to 1562 and issued a number of gold coins based on the tanka. Some of them are actually not rare. Ghiyath Shah (r. 1469-1500) issued a falus and half falus, both square. The state was conquered by Akbar and was made part of the Mughal Empire.
