This specimen was lot 31137 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Emmanuel Pinto gold 10 Scudi 1763 AU55 NGC. A superb example of the type with well-struck details and abundant mint luster. The reverse contains a stunning amount of pink iridescence that resides within the shield motif, and mild wear aligns with the grade. Conditionally rare for the series and choice as such. From the Ohio Valley Collection." This type was struck 1763 only and is rare. It is the last in a series of related ten scudi issued 1756 and 1761-63.
