This specimen was lot 1173 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALTA. 10 Scudi, 1762. Emmanuel Pinto (1741-73). NGC AU Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines." This type was struck 1762 only and is rare. Another ten scudi (KM-271) was also issued for 1762; it has a different wreath around the shield.
