Aureo y Calicó sale 423, lot 1383

This specimen was lot 1383 in Aureo y Calicó sale 423 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 320 € (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "w/d. Felipe III. Majorca. 2 rals. Bezants on reverse. Arms of Majorca with four and five pallets. Rare. MBC [very fine]." A variety exists of this scarce type with the king's bust facing left (KM 5). Two reales were also struck in Mallorca for Philip IV.
