Künker sale 264, lot 3745

This specimen was lot 3745 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €4,800 (about US$6,201 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ERZBISTUM Philipp Karl von Eltz-Kempenich, 1732-1743. Dukat 1738. GOLD. R Vorzüglich. (Germany, archbishopric of Mainz, Philipp Karl von Eltz-Kempenich, 1732-1743, ducat of 1738, scarce, extremely fine.)"

This type is listed for 1759-60. Like the other gold issues of this archbishopric, it is rare, tho less so than most others.
