This specimen was lot 2459 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 5,250 (about US$6,579 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "Dukat 1684. Mainz. Selten. Vorzüglich. (rare, extremely fine.)" This rare type was struck one year only.
