This specimen was lot 41126 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "MACEDONIA. Denar, 1996. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the 5th anniversary of U.N. membership, this alluring animal type features two storks in a marshland. Exceptionally mirrored and alluring, with a golden-orange hue throughout." Macedonia is one of the fragments of the former Yugoslavia. She preserves a fragile independence but is dominated by her neighbor Serbia. This NCLT used the module of a British double sovereign.
