Macao 1980 100 patacas

This specimen was lot 22659 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MACAU. 100 Patacas, 1980. Lunar Series, Year of the Monkey. NGC PROOF-65 ULTRA CAMEO. Year of the monkey. From a mintage of 2,000 pieces. Artistically well executed with light toning in the open areas of the fields." This type was issued along with a gold one thousand patacas (KM 17) to honor the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

Recorded mintage: 1,000 plus 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, .835 troy oz ASW.
