Luneburg (1645-50) ducat Fr-1528
This specimen was lot 3688 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,235 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÜNEBURG, STADT, Dukat o. J. (um 1650). In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung AU 55. GOLD. RR Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Luneburg, undated ducat, in NGC AU-55 holder. Rare, about extremely fine.)"
This undated type is now listed in the SCWC under German States--City of Luneburg but we have filed it under Brunswick-Luneburg, the surrounding duchy. Friedberg notes that this type is dated 1645 and 1647 as well as the undated specimen shown here.
