Lucca 1750 doppia Fr-489
This specimen was lot 2619 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 2,400 CHF (about US$3,232 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN Lucca, Republik, 1369-1799. Da 2 Scudi (Doppia) 1750, Lucca. Vorzüglich. Feine Goldpatina. Exemplar der Auktion Leu Numismatik 60, Zürich, Oktober 1994, Los 804. (Italy, republic of Lucca, 1369-1799, double scudi of 1750, Lucca mint. Extremely fine, Nice gold toning.)"
The SCWC lists this as a double ducat but it is actually a double scudo d'oro, a lighter coin. The SCWC also reports a half doppia of 1750 (KM 56) and a double doppia (KM 55) of 1748.
