This specimen was lot 2857 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,374 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIA | Lucca. Repubblica San Martino da 15 soldi 1742. Spl/Fdc. (Italy, republic of Lucca, "San martino" of fifteen soldi of 1742, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
Numista lists this type for 1734-35 and 1742-46 and states that it had a face value of three-fourths of a lira. On the reverse, St. Martin divides his cloak with a beggar, who later reveals himself to be Jesus Christ.
