Sincona sale 101, lot 2485

This specimen was lot 2485 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Lübeck, Stadt, Dukat 1790 HDF. Sehr selten. Nur 800 Exemplare geprägt. (Germany, city of Lubeck, ducat of 1790. Very rare. Only 800 specimens struck. NGC MS64.)"

The city of Lubeck, on the Baltic Sea, struck ducats throughout the eighteenth century; the last issue was in 1801. This rare issue is also known in silver.

Recorded mintage: 800.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold.
