This specimen was lot 3685 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,235 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÜBECK, STADT, Dukat 1727, mit dem Abzeichen des Bürgermeisters Adolph Matthäus Rodde. GOLD. R Sehr attraktives Exemplar, kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, city of Lubeck, ducat of 1727, with the badge of mayor Adolph Matthäus Rodde. Scarce, very attractive example, small defect on edge, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This scarce type was struck 1701, 1707, 1710-17, 1727-JJJ and 1729.
