Lubeck 1690 1/2 ducat Fr-1486a
This specimen was lot 1534 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,115 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · LÜBECK, STADT 1/2 Dukat 1690, mit dem Abzeichen des Bürgermeisters Johann Ritter. Münzmeister Hans Ridder. GOLD. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines deutschen Fabrikanten und Geschichtsfreundes. (Germany, city of Lubeck, half ducat of 1690. Very scarce in this quality, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
The SCWC lists this for 1679, 1682-83, 1688-98, 1703, 1706, 1710-11, 1714-16 while Friedberg mentions only 1690. Friedberg also notes a quarter (Fr-1487), single (Fr-1486), double (Fr-1485) and quadruple ducat, all rare.
