Lebanon 2009 500 livres rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck 1995-96, 2000, 2003, 2006 and 2009 for Lebanon. The early dates were struck in Winnipeg but the issues of 2000 and later were made in Pessac, Vienna or Jablonec (Czech Republic). This one is from Vienna. We don't believe it has been demonetized but as US$1 = 89,651 Lebanese pounds (December 2024), it is virtually worthless. At the time of issue, the exchange rate was about US$1 = ₤1,500.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 6 g, nickel plated steel, 24.5 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 39.
