This specimen was lot 41108 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "KUWAIT. 100 Dinars, AH 1401 (1981). NGC PROOF-66 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the beginning of the 15th AH century, this vibrant specimen radiates with mirrored brilliance and great eye appeal." Another gold 100 dinars issued in 1981 honored the twentieth anniversary of independence (Fr-3). The weight matches a British double sovereign.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.
