This specimen was lot 53189 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $2,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kiangnan. 7.2 Candareens (10 Cents), CD (1898). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Gold Shield. Circled Dragon type. Sharply struck and impressively detailed with subtle evidence of cleaning over the surfaces. A VERY SCARCE minor issue." This type was struck 1897-1905 in many varieties.

Recorded mintage: 8,000,000 all varieties.

Specification: 2.6 g, 0.820 fine silver.
