This specimen was part of lot 75503 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), which sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "JORDAN. Proof Set (6 Pieces), 1965. London Mint. Hussein bin Talal. CHOICE PROOF. Includes 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Fils denominations. With the deluxe mother-of-pearl case of issue." This type was struck for circulation AH 1374, 1382-83 and 1385. All dates are common. Hussein bin Talal, king of Jordan 1952-99, was a wily politician who balanced pressures from his Arab neighbors, Israel, the USA and the Soviet Union to establish a modern state.
