This specimen was part of lot 1235 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), which sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "JERSEY. Partial Nine Piece Proof Set, 1972. 8 pieces in set. Includes: 50 Pence to 50 Pounds, lacking the silver Pound coin. The rest of the set is complete and untouched. Some toning is present from long term storage in the original plush case of issue." This set commemorated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the marriage of prince Philip and queen Elizabeth. The reverse features the outline map of the island.
Recorded mintage: 24,000 plus 1,500 proofs.
