This specimen was lot 34627 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "Japan: Akihito gold Proof 10000 Yen Year 11 (1999) PR69 Deep Cameo PCGS. A flawless Gem struck to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Emperor Akihito's accession to the throne, and featuring an elegant phoenix motif on the reverse." This NCLT was accompanied by a copper-nickel 500 yen (KM Y123).
